An award-winning journalist, Amy spent nearly 15 years in New York City covering business topics as varied as banking, investing, technology, and retail. As a staff writer at Fortune Magazine, she won the Front Page Award from Newswomen’s Club of New York for her cover story on Napster.
Her writing has appeared in publications such as the New York Times, Real Simple, Women’s Health, Smart Money, and TV Guide. She also works with Castle Book Publishing, creator of the Who Knew? book series.
Amy serves as a senior writer at New York-based Berns Communications Group (BCG), a business communications firm that provides companies with corporate/financial public relations expertise. She spent two years at BCG as Vice President, specializing in story conceptualization and media relations.
Her blend of expertise in both journalism and corporate communications enables Amy to identify compelling stories while simultaneously understanding the needs of a business.
Amy graduated magna cum laude from Kenyon College with B.A. in History. She lives with her husband and two children in Central New Jersey. When she isn’t writing, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and practicing yoga. She also writes Cooking with Jeanne, a blog dedicated to her mother’s wacky, irreverent legacy and wonderful recipes.
